OK Al,
I've started taking some photos. Lots of abrasive fine dirt in my 
mechanisms. I have spent quite a bit of time cleaning. I still need to 
clean out the stainless guide tubes. Not sure yet how to do that. Maybe 
some stranded steel cable and an electric drill like we do for our type 
1 engine heat risers.

I have new cables from CIP1. Got them on sale on cyber Friday for half 
off! I also have new plastic covers and a new drive mechanism. I think I 
should get a new handle too as long as I'm into it. I am also having new 
plastic inserts made for the front guides. Hope to do more work next 
week. I'm on my driveway and rain is expected tonight and over the weekend.

Anyone know what the plastic piece is supposed to look like on the rear 
guides? Send me a photo if you can.

Do a search for sunroof on The Samba. Lots of good information there. 
Also I have a copy of Bentley for 68-79 buses that has some good sunroof 
assembly info.
