pressure plate can go bad, too - springs loose their tension. if you're not seeing excess oil, there's a good chance that's where the failure is. doing the clutch (always do all 3 parts. friction disk, pressure plate, and the throwout bearing) is easy..... hardly worse than dropping the engine and reinstalling it. doing the crank seal, which is worth doing while it's out, is harder because you have to remove the gland nut. main (crank) seal, new gland nut (if you DONT do these, at least re-grease the bearings in the gland nut), and the clutch parts. I think you'd have a late style (sleeved) TO bearing and clutch? we didnt get much of the upright's in late bays over here, so not really sure. if you need trans repair, though, that IS diy possible but it's pretty advanced DIY and there are a bunch of special tools and jigs you need that are not easy to come by.
