[VB] Gas Cap VEnting problem?

Well, my oil cap has 710 on it. The cap on the gas filler has a small VW logo, not a big one like in the pictures on that thread. My gas cap looks like the ones in this ad - https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=477776

A new vented cap looks to be cheap enough maybe I'll go back to a cork seal. I think I have one around here. See if it happens again - if it does, I'll get a replacement cap.

as for your original - it might be an oil cap (which isn't vented)?
or from a non-vented application.   and it probably worked because the
cork was crapped out enough to vent... :)
